Biography

Kathryn Bari-Petritis is a Wholistic Chef and graduate of The Natural Gourmet Institute for Health & Culinary Arts in New York City, specializing in "Food for Healing." She is teacher, lecturer & consultant on Wholefoods cooking as well as the former proprietor of The Health Conscious Chef, Inc. in Syosset, NY. Her kitchen reflects her philosophy on eating consciously and cultivating an appreciation for nourishing the body.

Food For Thought Health Food Store; 2007-2009
Working as a consultant with this 30 year old well established health Food Store in beautiful Garden City, NY. I have been teaching the Chef/Cook of 14 years , more popular entrees and side dishes for the deli case. This was known for years as more of a Vegetarian Health Food Deli . I have successfully created a variety of other entree options that now include; Fish, Fish burgers,free-ranged Turkey and Chicken. By working on a rotation of more seasonal recipes, we have created an interesting, more well-rounded menu . I have worked closely with owner Anju, to satisfy the special needs of all her customers. It has been very successful for the store, due to sales and repeat customers. Anju has done some exciting renovating and her store is charming and offers a large array of Healthy delicious dishes as well as fresh juicing.

Teaching and lecturing during the school year on health supportive foods.

Consulting and teaching owner and staff how to design a Health Supportive menu and hands-on cooking lessons. Their goal is to create an exciting, cozy, new Organic Eatery in the neighborhood. They presently have a juice and counter area. I established a Survey for the present customers and community, in order to determine what their exact needs are for such a special and well needed establishment.

Created a natural cuisine deli with a beautiful array of specially prepared heart healthy foods using organic staples (grains, beans, nuts and seeds) healing spices and soy products based on ancient philosophies on balancing and restoring good health.
